What are the differences between the types of hair extensions?
Before deciding to apply hair extensions, you go through a long series of questions about what to choose. We must specify that the hairstylist will know best what suits you. Depending on your hair type, the need for volume, length, and so on, the specialist can confirm exactly what you would need in terms of extensions.
Of course, you have various options. Hair extensions were created to satisfy diverse tastes and to instantly provide a unique look. You can choose based on hair type, attachment system, and the color tones that interest you. Although many prefer to mask the integration of hair extensions into natural hair, you can always opt for contrasts and radical look changes.
Types of hair extensions and how they differ
It should be mentioned that hair extensions can be made from natural or synthetic hair. It goes without saying that synthetic hair differs in shine, texture, and appearance. Natural, Remy, high-quality hair extensions like our range are also the recommended ones. They "behave" like your own hair; you can dye or cut them.

Another criterion for differentiating between types of hair extensions refers to their attachment system. Depending on the application method, there are:
- Tape-on hair extensions (with adhesive tape)
These differ by the tape itself, the adhesive, with which they attach to the natural hair. The tape is transparent, so it looks like the hair strands are natural and do not give the impression that they are anything other than the wearer's own. - Clip-on hair extensions
Among the most popular are this type, based on small clip fastening systems. A simple attachment and you can add the desired volume to your hair. They can be mounted and removed by the wearer without specialized help, but it is also recommended to remove them at the end of the day.
- Flip-in hair extensions
A nearly similar concept is flip-in, which involves mounting on a transparent strand. They also have a clip on the inside. Easy to install, non-invasive.
- Sewn Extensions
These are usually found on wefts, meaning they are sewn onto a band and applied through braiding into natural hair. They definitely require specialized help for installation. They have the advantage of being used long-term, up to 3 months depending also on the natural hair growth rate. They are also reusable, as long as they still look good to be reapplied after the natural hair has grown.

- Microring or nanoring hair extensions
They resemble keratin hair extensions in that they are strands that attach. They are applied with the help of a special needle, creating a kind of braid. These will be applied by a specialist and can be worn for up to 3 months, depending on the natural hair growth rate. They will be reapplied later, but again by a specialist. They can be reused up to 2 or 3 times, depending on how they are kept and cared for.
The nanoring ones have an even smaller fastening system, almost imperceptible. They do not cause discomfort, and can barely be noticed upon close inspection. These can also be reused, following the same principle, but the small rings will need to be purchased with each reapplication.
- Keratin extensions
These are hot-applied. They are permanent extensions that can be reused. They have increased durability and the advantage of nourishing the hair strand where they are attached, thanks to natural keratin. They are applied to the hair strand with a special device that creates a keratin-based bond on the hair strand. But for this, a special tool and skilled hand are needed. - Hair wefts, bangs, or ponytails
These are simply applied as if you had a hair accessory. They are an instant changed look, recommended to be worn only short-term and removed at the end of the day. You can use them anytime without needing to consult a specialist.
